Faites ceci avant de commencer à cuisiner
- Peel and cut the potatoes into thick fries.
- Soak the cut potatoes in cold water for at least 30 minutes.
- In a mixing bowl, combine flour, baking powder, salt, and pepper.
- Gradually whisk in cold water until the batter is smooth.
📋 Instructions
Heat vegetable oil in a deep fryer or a large pot to 180°C.
Remove the potatoes from water and pat them dry with a towel.
Fry the potatoes in the hot oil for about 5-6 minutes until lightly golden, then remove and drain on paper towels.
Dip each cod fillet into the batter, allowing excess to drip off.
Carefully place the battered fish into the hot oil and fry for about 5-7 minutes until golden brown and cooked through.
Remove the fish and drain on paper towels.
Return the fries to the hot oil for an additional 2-3 minutes for extra crispiness.
Serve the fish and chips hot with malt vinegar or tartar sauce.
