Food events

Food events and cooking competitions near you.

Public cook-offs, themed dinners, chef tastings and community meals — find one to join, or host your own.

Dine With Me is the social network for food lovers, and the events surface is where the social graph turns into actual evenings. Browse what's happening in your city, register for a cook-off that catches your eye, or stand up your own event in a couple of minutes.

Public cooking competitions are the headline event format. Singles cook on their own; couples cook in pairs; mixed competitions rank both formats together. Every participant hosts a dinner, every dinner gets rated by the other participants, and the system computes deterministic winners through built-in tiebreaker rules.

Themed dinners and community meals are the lighter format — a one-evening event organised inside a community, or a chef-led tasting at a host's home. The same scheduling, RSVP and conflict-checking tools that power private dinners power these too.

Chef tastings and cooking lessons are the third surface — verified chefs publish menus, set their hourly rate, and accept bookings for at-home dinners or one-on-one lessons.

Where to find food events

Frequently asked

How are cooking competitions structured?+

Singles, couples or mixed format. Each participant hosts a dinner; participants rate each other on Taste, Presentation, Creativity (plus optional custom categories). Weighted averages, deterministic tiebreaker rules and a built-in 'phantom-vote' rule fix forgotten ratings. Winner takes the pool, minus a small platform fee, with an option to donate to a partner NGO instead.

Can I host an event in my own home?+

Yes. Public competitions are explicitly home-based — every participant hosts at their own kitchen. Private dinners are at the host's location. Chef bookings happen at the customer's home (or sometimes the chef's, by arrangement).

Are food events safe for strangers?+

All competition participants must verify their profile, payments are held in escrow, and ratings are public after the event. Hosts and guests rate each other, building a reputation graph over time. The platform handles disputes and refunds.

How do I find food events in my city?+

Browse /competitions and the city pages — both surface results scoped to your country and city first, with global fallback when local results are sparse. Following a community keeps you notified when that community runs an event.
