Classic hummus is a creamy and flavorful Middle Eastern dip made from chickpeas, tahini, and garlic. It's perfect for spreading on pita bread or as a dip for fresh vegetables.

Do this before you start cooking
- Drain and rinse the chickpeas if using canned.
- Peel and crush the garlic cloves.
- Juice the lemon.

In a food processor, combine chickpeas, tahini, garlic, lemon juice, cumin, and salt.

Blend until smooth, adding water as needed to reach desired consistency.

While blending, slowly drizzle in the olive oil until fully incorporated.

Taste and adjust seasoning if necessary.

Transfer to a serving bowl and drizzle with extra olive oil before serving.
