Do this before you start cooking

  • Preheat oven to 180ยฐC
  • Line baking sheets with parchment paper
  • Soften the butter at room temperature
  • Measure out all ingredients

In a large bowl, cream together the softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until smooth

Beat in the egg and vanilla extract until well combined

In another bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt

Fold in the chocolate chips

Scoop tablespoon-sized balls of dough onto the prepared baking sheets, leaving space between each ball

Bake in the preheated oven for 10-12 minutes or until edges are golden brown

Remove from the oven and let cool on the baking sheets for a few minutes before transferring to wire racks
