Do this before you start cooking
- Preheat oven to 180ยฐC.
- Grease a baking dish or individual ramekins.
- Chop the dates and place them in a bowl.
- Pour boiling water over the chopped dates and let them soak for 15 minutes.

In a mixing bowl, cream together butter and brown sugar until light and fluffy.
Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition.
Stir in the soaked dates along with their soaking liquid.
Sift together the flour and baking powder, then fold into the mixture.
Add vanilla extract and mix until just combined.
Pour the batter into the prepared baking dish or ramekins.
Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes or until a skewer comes out clean.
While the pudding is baking, prepare the toffee sauce by heating heavy cream and dark brown sugar in a saucepan over medium heat until sugar dissolves.
Once the pudding is done, let it cool for a few minutes before serving.
Serve warm drizzled with toffee sauce.
