Do this before you start cooking

  • Preheat oven to 180ยฐC
  • Finely chop the onion and garlic
  • Grate the carrot
  • Soak the bread in milk
  • Chop the dried apricots and almonds

๐Ÿ“‹ Instructions

Heat olive oil in a large pan over medium heat

Add onion and garlic, and sautรฉ until translucent

Stir in the grated carrot and cook for another 2 minutes

Add the ground beef and cook until browned

Mix in the curry powder, turmeric, chopped apricots, almonds, salt, and pepper

Remove from heat and let cool slightly

Squeeze the excess milk from the bread and tear it into pieces, adding to the meat mixture

Combine everything well and transfer to a greased baking dish

In a bowl, whisk together the eggs and remaining milk

Pour the egg mixture over the meat in the baking dish

Lay the bay leaves on top

Bake for 30-35 minutes or until set and golden

Serve hot with rice and chutney
