Shepherd's Pie is a comforting dish made with ground meat and vegetables, topped with creamy mashed potatoes. It's the perfect hearty meal for family gatherings or a cozy dinner.

๐Ÿ”ช Preparation

Do this before you start cooking

  • Preheat oven to 200ยฐC
  • Peel and chop the potatoes into chunks
  • Finely chop the onion and garlic
  • Dice the carrots
  • Prepare a baking dish by greasing it lightly

๐Ÿ“‹ Instructions

Boil the potatoes in salted water until tender, about 15 minutes.

In a large pan, heat olive oil over medium heat.

Add the onion and garlic, cooking until softened, about 5 minutes.

Stir in the diced carrots and cook for another 5 minutes.

Add the ground lamb and cook until browned, breaking it up with a spoon.

Mix in the peas, thyme, salt, and pepper, then remove from heat.

Drain the boiled potatoes and return them to the pot.

Add butter and milk to the potatoes, mashing until smooth.

Spread the meat and vegetable mixture evenly in the baking dish.

Top with the mashed potatoes, spreading them out evenly.

Use a fork to create texture on the top of the potatoes.

Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, until golden brown.
