Tiramisu is a beloved Italian dessert known for its rich coffee flavor and creamy texture. This classic version layers coffee-soaked ladyfingers with a luscious mascarpone mixture, making it a perfect treat for any occasion.

Do this before you start cooking

  • Brew strong coffee and let it cool.
  • Separate egg yolks and whites into two bowls.
  • Whip the egg whites until stiff peaks form.
  • In another bowl, beat the egg yolks with sugar until pale and creamy.

Add mascarpone cheese and vanilla extract to the egg yolk mixture and mix until smooth.

Gently fold the whipped egg whites into the mascarpone mixture until fully incorporated.

Dip each ladyfinger briefly in the cooled coffee mixed with dark rum.

Layer half of the soaked ladyfingers in the bottom of a serving dish.

Spread half of the mascarpone mixture over the ladyfingers.

Repeat with another layer of soaked ladyfingers and the remaining mascarpone mixture.

Sift cocoa powder over the top layer.

Refrigerate for at least 4 hours before serving.
