Anzac biscuits are a traditional Australian treat, originally made to send to soldiers during World War I. These sweet, crunchy cookies made with oats and coconut are perfect for a nostalgic snack or dessert.

Plain flour100 g
Desiccated coconut75 g

Brown sugar90 g
Caster sugar90 g
Golden syrup2 tablespoon

🧀 Dairy

Butter125 g

🌶️ Spices & Herbs

Baking soda1 teaspoon

🍷 Beverages

Water2 tablespoon

📋 Instructions

Preheat oven to 160°C

Line a baking tray with parchment paper

Melt butter and golden syrup together in a saucepan

Combine oats, flour, coconut, brown sugar, and caster sugar in a bowl

Mix baking soda with water in a small bowl and set aside

Pour the melted butter and golden syrup mixture into the dry ingredients

Add the baking soda mixture and stir until well combined

Scoop tablespoonfuls of the mixture onto the prepared baking tray, leaving space between each

Flatten each biscuit slightly with the back of a fork

Bake in the preheated oven for 15-20 minutes until golden brown

Remove from oven and allow to cool on the baking tray for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack
